Cosy at the Club

A relatively new edition to the Coventry restaurant scene is the ultra hip and trendy Cosy Club. Located in the heart of Coventry in Broadgate this modern hipster restaurant isn't out of place alongside the likes of Wagamamas and Las Iguanas. Boosting a beautiful outdoor terrace area overlooking the Lady Godiva herself and 4.7 miles of reclaimed wooden floorboards it is no surprise that this restaurant attracts the crowds 7-days a week, not only for the fabulous food but also the delicious cocktails on offer.

Since The Cosy Club came to Coventry I myself have tried it twice. On one occasion I opted for the Tapas, with 3 choices for £11.95 served with ciabatta you certainly won't go hungry. From the Tapas menu I decided to try a few dishes I normally wouldn't consider, Pulled Chicken & Chorizo, Spicy Chicken Wings and Beef & Pork Meatballs. I'm a massive fan of Tapas as I love dishes that allow you to try something different and with Tapas because they are smaller dishes if you don't like all the dishes you won't leave hungry because you'll have other alternatives to choose from.

On my second dining experience I would decide to opt for a main course, although I did really enjoy the Tapas I thought it only fair to try something different. Totally unoriginal but I went for the Fish & Chips, beer battered cod, with thick-cut chips, minty mushy garden peas and tartar sauce for £11.95. As will all Fish & Chips this traditional meal really filled me up and I must say the highlight of the meal for me had to be the peas. Normally I'm not a fan of peas and will avoid them at all cost but these were just incredible with a hint of mint and I wouldn't hesitate to have this meal a second time around. For dessert I obviously went for something chocolaty with the Chocolate Pot with raspberry coulis and shortbread biscuit.  After the Fish & Chips the Chocolate Pot finished me off and I couldn't quite manage it all, I think my tummy felt a little overwhelmed by chocolate to say the least.

So if you're looking for somewhere to eat or even drink I would definitely recommend The Cosy Club. It offers a whole host of unique meals you won't find anywhere else in Coventry from the Chicken, Bacon and Avocado Burger to the Empire Curry and some incredible cocktails, my personal favourite is the ultra refreshing gin based English Garden.

**My second visit to The Cosy Club Coventry was complimentary to review the restaurant, all opinions are honest and my own
