Happiness

Today is a little something different, I have decided to write about what makes me happy, because why not…

These things aren’t in any particular order they are just things that make me happy in my life. I actually got the inspiration for this post from Gerry Leanne over at Floral & Freckled when I was doing a little bit of research on blog posts and I thought this was a brilliant idea.

I have also added in some pictures to make it more interesting, I would love to hear about what makes you happy in your life so please share with me and leave a comment.

  1. My car, yes my car. I have been driving for 9 years now, making myself sound old there, but I could not do without my little run around it’s brilliant it gets me from A to B and without it I wouldn’t have had the chance to go to all the wonderful places I have. I plan to continue going places and enjoying life as much as I possibly can.
  1. I love an adventure, whether that might be travelling on holiday or just going somewhere different for the day it doesn’t really matter. I mean don’t get me wrong I don’t mind a duvet day every often but I’m much more of a “going out” type of person. My next adventure will be a trip to the Harry Potter Studios on Wednesday and I cannot wait. I have never been before and I am super excited. I will take photos of my day, must make sure I have memory on my phone to take photos. But yes I do enjoy a good adventure, one of my main thoughts in life is that yes it’s nice to have lovely things but it’s even better to have brilliant experiences because they are what you always remember in your life.

  1. I couldn’t go without mentioning it could I, MakeUp yes of course.  An obvious one but it does play a big part in my life. I’m trying my hardest to blog more regularly and hopefully soon I will start to organise myself a little better and have set days when I write a post.
  1. A strange one maybe but Social Media, believe me I don’t know how we managed without it but we did. However I enjoy using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on a daily basis. I have just joined Snapchat so I am going to start trying to understand how to use it. I really like Twitter as it is great for advertising your blog page and tweeting when you have new posts. It also introduced me to the beauty blogging community and from that I have met some fabulous people.
  1. The festive period, Christmas. I don’t care if it’s August I had to mention Christmas. It puts everybody in such high spirits and people are just generally happier in the month of December it seems. It also means I get to go to the German Market in Birmingham which is brilliant might I add and I always have some of the garlic bread with cheese which is wonderful, probably one of the best things I have ever tasted yummy.

  1. One of my favourite shops is LUSH, I really enjoy visiting the shop in Leicester and Birmingham and I couldn’t go in without coming out with something that’s for sure. The people that work there are always so lovely and helpful, they will do demonstrations for you and offer advice about the products. I have been there for bloggers meet ups a few times and it has always been a great experience and a chance to try out more products that I maybe would not always consider buying.

  1. My family and friends, this goes without saying but I still wanted to mention them of course. I have had the same best friend for so many years I’ve lost count but at a guess I would probably say around 17 years since we were at junior school together when we first met. We have been through the good times and the bad times over the 17 years and I can see us being the best of friends forever.

  1. My job, yes I love my job. Apart from it being my income source I really enjoy it, I like my role and have had the chance to experience so many great things. Throughout the two and a half years I have worked for the company I have made so many great friends and that I am so grateful for.
  1. Music, it just brightens up my day. I listen to music all the time and sometimes I don’t even realise it. I always have the radio on in the morning when I’m getting ready for work or I’m on YouTube reminiscing to songs of my youth.
  1. The last one would probably have to be pizza; it is my favourite food so it had to get a mention. Pizza Express always do a great pizza, the American Hot is my personal favourite.
Thank you for reading I hope you have enjoyed this different post from me...

The £1.99 Palette

You may remember the other day in my Treat Your Face post I mentioned about a palette that I purchased from the Body Care shop.

First can I just say this was an absolute bargain at £1.99, I found it in the discount area and thought meh why not just give it a go, why not hey?

I thought I would keep this post brief in words and focus more on the photos. But I think this is a WINNER. Agree or disagree?

I have swatched the palette and tried out a few looks for you, personally I think it's a winner especially for £1.99 I mean come on.

Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Primark £1 Nails

As a treat for my holiday to Magaluf I got acrylics at a local beauty salon in town.

After I returned home and removed them I managed to last about 2 weeks with the acrylics off and my real nails looking reasonably nice and polished but then they started to become brittle and splitting.

As I have had a few special occasions to attend I have been using false nails. I know I probably shouldn’t as this really won’t improve my nails or strengthen them but I really did not want to go to my friend’s birthday meal with horrible nails.

To spruce up my nails a little I have been using the imPRESS Press-on Manicure nails. You may have already heard of these, as they are the nails that come with the self-stick glue attached to the nail so you just simply press them on.

They have a wide range of these available at Boots and I have tried a few of the designs that they have available including Call My Agent and Vamp It Up

The imPRESS nails range in price from £4.49 (offer) up to £8.99 so they can be pretty expensive. Despite the fact that they do come with the self-stick included on the reverse side of the nail I still stick them on with nail glue as well as I find that they don’t last as long without it.

Due to the cost of the imPRESS nails I thought I would go for something different and spotted these beauties whilst I was in Primark at the weekend. These are only £1 a pack, which is an absolute bargain. You get 24 in a pack and they are from the P.S. Love range, you also get a glue included but I have decided to buy a different glue to apply them with, I have gone for the Nailene Ultra Quick Nail Glue available from Boots for £2.80. This aims to set within 3 seconds.
.

I got three lots of the nails and I probably could have got more due to them only being £1 each but I restrained myself.

I got a plain light green shade set which I absolutely love and have applied for you to see. Then I got two more sets which have patterns on, first as you can see I went for the ones with the design going towards the tip from green, yellow to pink and each of these triangle sections has a little pattern in it and second we have the nails with the zigzag effect with black, blue and pink triangles which I will probably save until the weekend for something a little bit more jazzy!

What do you think about fake nails? Do you use them, do you like them? Please leave me a comment I would love to know your thoughts.

Thank you for reading and sorry for the lengthy post, I just love false nails at the moment and all the designs that are available.

Treat Your Face

I went in to town after work today to meet up with my best friend for a lovely drink at Costa, I had the Mango & Passion Fruit Cooler as always, it's becoming my staple drink at Costa as its all I ever seem to have these days.

Whilst I was in town I fancied a trip to the BodyCare shop, I hadn't gone in there for ages so I thought why not go and take a look.

I always really like it in there as they have so many great bargains and different things to try out. I went in with a purpose to get some face care products. After Friday night I have felt a little rough and tired from a lot of partying and a lot more drinking to celebrate my friends birthday, although her official party is actually this Saturday so we will be doing it all over again... So I was in desperate need of a little pamper session tonight ready for the rest of the week.

I got three face care products and I also got an eyeshadow palette which I'll review later in the week for you.

I got the Botanical Choice Eye Puffiness Minimizing Patches, you get four lots of these treatments to place under your eyes. They are very cooling and sooth the area under your eyes. I have tried these before and I do really like them, they help to reduce the puffiness under the eye, however I still need something for dark circles, if anybody has any miracle treatments please let me know I'd love to try them out.
The patches have a Ginkgo and Walnut extract and you are suppose to wear the for a total of 30 minutes, I do usually take them off after 15, so tomorrow night I am going to make it my mission to keep them on for the full 30. They cost £1.79 and I would repurchase them as I have done before in the past, they are a great cheap product and perfect for a little pamper evening after work.

Next I got the T-zone Nose Pore Strips and you get 6 included in this packet. The aim of the strips are to clear your nose of blackheads and spot casing bacteria. I really really like these, you wet your nose and apply the strip after you have peeled the plastic off. You then leave it on for around 10-15 minutes when the strip will go hard. After removing it you will see it has cleansed the skin and opened up the pours, it will have removed any dirt from the nose as well. For 6 strips you pay £1.49, I like using these as the best thing is you can actually see them working.

The last thing I went for is a face mask, I got the Beauty Formulas Rejuvenating Glorious Mud. This is a clay formula and it actually smells amazing which really did surprise me. It's hard to actually describe the scent, it's almost shampoo like. It only cost 99p which is good for the size of the product, I think you could probably get around 15 masks from this. It says that this product is good for removing dirt and oil, non-comedogenic so will not clog pores and lanolin free. It left my skin feeling fresh and with the other two products that I used I feel pampered and ready to take on the rest of the week. I think they also have more of these masks available in the tube so I might pop back in and pick up some more to to out.

What are your pamper essentials, please let me know and as always thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Mini Boots Beauty Haul #4

I had a little mini spree in Boots the other day, nothing major however I wanted to share my purchases with you.

I'm sure from my previous posts it is clear to say that I love Sanctuary products and I really wanted to find nice product for my skin as ever since I have returned from my holiday I feel like it isn't at it's greatest. So I went for a small treatment of the Sanctuary Salt Scrub from Boots available for £1.75 for 60g. I have tried this sachet before and will continue to re-purchase it, usually I like to buy it as a little treat for when I am getting ready for a night out. I massage it on in the shower and then rinse and then after I have showered it comes out almost like an oil of the skin which I then message in again and top off with some Sanctuary Crème Soufflé from Boots available for £10.50 on offer at the moment for 475ML, this product is absolutely fantastic and lasts forever.

I picked up another Sanctuary product the Moisturising Butter Scrub from Boots available for £6.50 on offer at the moment for 200ML. This product had the same lovely scent as all the other Sanctuary products and so far I have only used it a couple of times but am liking it as a scrub for the bath and the shower.

*Sanctuary off at the moment is 3 for 2 on selected Sanctuary Indulgent Bathing Products.

I've really started to enjoy painting my nails again, I went through a faze when I couldn't be bothered with them but after I got back from my holiday I have become a little obsessed, just got to stop biting them now. I got two Barry M Hi Shine Gel Nail Paint available from Boots for £3.99 each but at the moment you can *buy one and get one half price on selected Barry M products.
I picked up the Hi Shine ones as I have tried the, before and they are by far my favourite so I thought why not and got myself Pomegranate 420 a gorgeous red with a touch of pink colour and Green Berry 420 a lovely light green. I haven't tried the, out yet but when I do I'll be sure to Instagram a picture.

Last but not least I got a lovely little red lippy, yes like I need another... I got the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick from Boots available for £7.49 in the colour Revlon Red 730. *Also on offer buy on get the 2nd half price on selected Revlon products. Makes me want more all these offers but must resist...

Hopefully you like my little haul, let me know what you think of what I purchased or if you have tried any of the products.

Thank You for reading!!
